Sun and Stay ("we," "us") operates sunandstay.com, the direct booking site for our vacation rental in Point Loma, San Diego. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what we need to handle your booking request, and we never sell your information.
What we collect
- Booking request details — when you submit a request, we receive the information you enter: your name, email address, requested dates, purpose of stay, whether you are bringing a dog, and anything you write in the message field.
- Usage data — we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, approximate location, device type). This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
- Technical logs — our hosting provider, Cloudflare, automatically processes standard technical data (such as IP address) to serve the site securely and prevent abuse.
How we use it
- To review and respond to your booking request, and to manage your stay if it is confirmed.
- To send you payment instructions if your request is approved.
- To improve the site and our service.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not send marketing email.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers needed to operate the site and your booking:
- Cloudflare — hosts the site and securely stores booking requests.
- Stripe — processes payment if your booking is approved. Your payment details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store card numbers.
- Google Analytics — anonymized site usage statistics.
- Authorities, if required by law.
How long we keep it
Booking requests are kept for as long as needed to manage inquiries and stays, and for our business records afterward. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see below), and we will, unless we are legally required to keep it.
Cookies
The site uses cookies set by Google Analytics to measure site usage. You can block cookies in your browser settings or install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on; the site works fine without them.
Your rights
You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to deletion. To exercise any of these, email hello@sunandstay.com — we respond to every request personally.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we update this policy, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
